Senior Environmental Consultant/Project Manager - Palo Alto/Encinitas

We are looking to fill immediate openings for a fulltime Senior Environmental Consultant/Project Manager for both our Palo Alto (San Francisco Bay Area) and Encinitas (San Diego Area) offices. The position's responsibilities will include developing permitting strategies, managing the preparation of permit application packages, environmental impact assessment documents, constraints analyses, and permitting assessments; supervising and mentoring staff; maintaining positive client relations; and providing quality control. Environmental consulting experience, project management experience, and familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations are mandatory. Experience with utility and/or energy projects is highly preferred.

We are looking for a proactive self-starter who knows how to work independently to complete tasks on time. Candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, and be able to demonstrate strong quality-control skills. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university is required. A B.S. in environmental planning, environmental science, city and regional planning, biology, or a similar field is required. M.S. in a related field is preferred. A minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental consulting in a similar role is required.

Planner/GIS Specialist - Palo Alto

We are looking to fill an immediate opening in our Palo Alto office for a fulltime Environmental Planner/GIS Specialist, whose responsibilities will include researching and organizing data, generating and processing GIS/GPS data, preparing high-quality maps and graphics, preparing impact assessments, and drafting reports.

We are looking for a proactive self-starter who knows how to work independently to complete tasks on time. Candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, and be able to demonstrate strong quality-control skills. A Bachelor's degree in geography, environmental science, resource management, city and regional planning, biology, or a similar field is required. Candidate must have at least 2 years of prior work experience in an office setting (preferably for a consulting firm) and must be proficient with ESRI ArcGIS (and its extensions) and Microsoft Office programs. Experience in graphic software, including Adobe Illustrator and PhotoShop, is a plus. Experience assessing environmental impacts under NEPA and/or CEQA and/or preparing permit applications is highly preferred.

Senior Botanist/Wetland Delineator - Palo Alto

We are looking to fill an immediate opening for a fulltime Senior Botanist/Wetland Delineator in our Palo Alto office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, researching information, organizing information and data, overseeing and conducting focused botanical surveys, taking the lead in conducting wetland delineations, preparing reports documenting survey and wetland delineation results, assisting with project permitting efforts, performing technical reviews of documents, writing environmental analysis documents, and conducting environmental and biological monitoring. A Bachelor's degree in botany, biology, wildlife ecology, fisheries ecology, or a similar field and at least to 7 years of experience in a similar role is required. An M.S. in a similar field is preferred. At least 5 years of experience delineating wetlands and waters of the U.S. in accordance with the 1987 Corps Wetland Delineation Manual (Technical Report Y-87-1) and the Regional Supplement: Arid West Region is required. Working knowledge of GIS and GPS is preferred. Candidates must be organized, detail-oriented, a team player, self-motivated, and able to demonstrate superb quality-control skills. Candidates must be able to manage tasks independently, conduct fieldwork (including hiking in rough terrain), and have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Archaeologist - Palo Alto

We are looking to fill an immediate opening for a fulltime Archaeologist whose responsibilities will include research, survey work, impacts analysis, significance evaluation, testing, permit assessment, report preparation, and monitoring. A Masters degree in archaeology, cultural resource management, or a similar field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role is required. The successful candidate must be physically able to conduct archaeological field surveys in potentially rugged terrain. Additionally, the successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of the laws and regulations pertaining to cultural resource management and protection. Candidates must have excellent written and communication skills. Candidates must meet the requirements of the Secretary of Interior's Professional Qualification Standards.
